작가 노트_I Protostar

 

나의 작업은 내면의 원형을 탐구하며 심연의 유희를 자유 드로잉을 토대로 형상화한다. 그리고 기존의 관념화된 사고에서 탈피하여 직관적으로 사물을 재현한다. 그 재현된 이미지는 즉흥적 행위와 함께 다시 변형되며 오브제는 또 다른 오브제로 이행한다.

나의 무의식에서 비롯된 사물들은 어디에도 고정되지 않은 자유로운 실체의 모습으로, 예측 불가능한 새로운 이야기를 전개한다.

일정한 규칙 없이 표면 위에 흐르는 물감이나 강렬한 색채의 대비, 그리고 시시때때로 변화하는 형상은 구상과 추상의 경계를 넘나든다. 작업에서 나타나는 낯선 실체의 의인화된 형상을 모호한 경계 선상에서 마주하게 되면 다층적 감정을 일으킨다. 그리고 직관적인 붓 터치와 색의 긴장감의 상호 작용으로 궁극적으로 억압할 수 없는 에너지와 별의 원시성의 영역을 확장 시킨다.

 

 

작가노트_II Dancing Zelkova

 

나무가 춤을 춘다.

지구에 뿌리를 내린 채

해와 달을 지나서,

우주 너머 空을 향해간다.

지구, 달, 태양이 서로 뒤엉키며 하나 되는 찰나,

파편화된 기억은 뭉쳐지고 단단한 자아는 해체되어 간다.

내가 나무가 되고 나무는 우주가 된다.

우주가 나무가 되고 나무는 내가 된다.

느티나무가 춤을 춘다.

나, 나무, 우주,

다 사라질 때까지……

 

 

작가노트_III 꽃이 피다

 

피고 지는 꽃은 무한한 태양계를 꿈꾸고,

우주 공간은 꽃의 향기를 품으며

공(空)의 세계에 회전한다.

 

나는 꽃의 색채와 근원적인 존재에 대한 명상을 통해, 꽃의 새로운 빛에 관한 이야기를 그리고 있다. 꽃은 꽃이 되기도 하고, 꽃이 아닌 꽃이 되기도 한다.

"꽃"이라는 의식에서 해방되려는 천체(天體의 무한한 움직임을 담고 있는 꽃은, 태양과 행성이 되기도 하고. 다양한 얼굴이 되기도 한다.

꽃은 상이한 이미지의 끌어당김과 상호 간의 물질 전환 관계 속에서 현세와 보이지 않는 에너지 사이에 다리를 놓아준다. 나는 꽃에 대한 명상에서 발견된 중계(中)적 시간의 기묘한 꿈은 나의 붓의 힘을 빌려 꽃의 새로운 빛과 이야기를 창출하며, 꽃의 다의(義)적인 현존(現存)과 감각을 확장 시키는 시공(時空)을 조형해 나간다.

 

 

 

Artist Statement I_ Protostar

 

My work explores inner archetypes. I also make freestyle drawings based on my subconscious. I break away from the conventional approach and makes representations of objects driven by her intuition. The representative image is once again transformed into another object through my improvisational gestures. The objects born out of the unconscious are free and unfixed, unfolding narratives that are unpredictable.

my work moves between figuration and abstraction with paint that drips on the surface without a notable pattern, the intensity of contrasting colors, and the shapes that frequently transform. One experiences complex layers of emotions when faced with unfamiliar anthropomorphic forms upon an ambiguous border of my figures. The energy from my unrelenting brush strokes and the tension created amongst the colors cannot be suppressed and eventually expands the realm of the aboriginal stars.

 

 

Artist Statement II_ Dancing Zelkova

 

The trees dance

Rooted in the earth

Through the sun and the moon,

Goes towards the void beyond the universe.

The moment the earth, moon, and sun intertwine and become one,

Fragmented memories are united and the solid self is dismantled.

I become a tree and the tree becomes the universe.

The universe becomes a tree, and the tree becomes me.

The zelkova tree is dancing

Me, the tree, the universe,

Until everything is gone... …

 

 

Artist Statement III_ Blossom

 

The Flower which blooms and withers,

dreams the boundless Solar system,

The space of the universe which treasures the scent of the Flower,

rotates in the realm of the emptiness.

 

Through the colors of the flower and the contemplation of the underlying existence, I am drawing the story of the new light of the Flowers.

 

The Flower becomes flower, or simultaneously they try to be non-flowers. 'The Flower' which is liberating from the consciousness of infinite motions of celestial bodies becomes the sun, a planet or various faces. The flower constructs a bridge between the invisible energy and this world through the relationships of different drawing images and the conversion of materials.

 

The oddly-shaped dream of the transmitted time which was found from my meditation of the Flowers creates the new light and story of the flowers borrowing the power of my brushes, and hortisculptures the various existences of the flowers with the time and space which extends the senses.
