우종택이 지금 벌이고 있는 대자연의 이벤트인 <무시광겁의 묘유>는 어느 것보다도 더 파타피지칼하다. 그것이 갖는 영력은 초감성적 세계의(überweltlich) 것처럼 느껴지고, 그것이 주는 영적 이미지는 보는 이를 차원너머의(überdimensional) 세상으로 안내한다.

이제까지 식물학자 이상의 식물분류학적 관심을 보여 온 그는 그것만으로도 그가 자연을 매우 사랑하는 자연주의자임을 엿보게 했다. 하지만 지금 그가 제기하는 자연사적 질문은 눈에 보이는 자연(현상)에서 보이지 않는 자연(본질)을, 가시적 물상(物象)에서 비가시적 물성(物性)을 찾으려했던 고대 그리스의 자연철학자들을 연상시키고 있다.

그가 특히 관심 갖는 것은 니체가 『인간적인, 너무나 인간적인』의 첫 문단에서 제기한 일체존재의 ‘경이로운 기원’(Wunderursprung)의 문제다. 니체와 마찬가지로 그 또한 ‘묘유성’으로 ‘기원의 경이로움’을 표현하고 있는 것이다. 이렇듯 원초적 자연에 대한 그의 관심은 존재론적이고 형이상학적이다.

The artist who has had the plant-taxonomic interest more than botanists seems to be a naturalist who loves nature so much. However, his own questions of natural history makes us think of Ancient Greek natural philosophers who invisible nature(essence) from the visible nature(phenomena) and invisible physical properties from visible ones.

His particular concern is the matter of 'wonderful origin'(Wunderursprung) of the whole beings mentioned in the first paragraph by Menschliches, Allzumenschliches by Nietzsche. Like the philosopher, he expresses the 'wonder of the origin' with being of non-being. Therefore, his concern for primitive wonders is ontological and metaphysical.
